Free Software (with links)

I thought i would compile a list of software I use when setting up my computers.

Everything is 100% legal and free to download.

Office Suite:

For my complete office suite i use a free program called Open Office.org.
This is compatible with nearly all other office software (Example it can open .DOC files)

I have also think it is very easy to use and has many of the same features you have to pay
for in some other office suites:

DOWNLOAD OPEN OFFICE.ORG

Anti Virus:

I tend to use a paid anti virus now due to having more then one computer and the fact the
prices seem to be coming down however i have used these anti virus programs and they do work very well.

I would recommend only install one as they can conflict with each other:

DOWNLOAD AVG FREE

DOWNLOAD AVAST FREE

Codec Pack:

I find this pack very useful as it will allow you play any movie either from
DVD or downloaded.

DOWNLOAD XVID

Just to make this clear i am not the author of any of this software but just find them
extremely useful when setting up my new computer.

I have seen people on auction sites trying to sell this software but they are all 100% free to download.

If you do find this useful then please donate (top left of page)

If not let me know what you are after and i will be happy to help.

Thanks for reading i hope you found my list useful

what software I setup my computer with...

so you've just saved up to buy a new laptop then you get hit with the additional price for:
Office
Antivirus
Photo editing software
Games!!!

that extra cost can come close to £300 if you needed everything... You can buy a laptop for that!!!!!

so here is a little list of software I use or have used to do the following task (just Google then to download and the all 100% free and legal)

Office suite:
* open office.org - this is an amazing prices of software for documents, spreadsheets and more.

Antivirus:
* Avast - I have used this one for a while and yet to get any virus on my computer.
* AVG - I use this antivirus on my main computer which backs up my files and same again I've had no problems.

Photo editing:
G.I.M.P -  graphical image manipulation program this program has loads of free features which allows you to edit your photos.

Games:
* track mania - I love this great racing game with online multiplayer
* League of legends - this is a very popular game with excellent game play and beat of all its free
* gunz -  this is online only but if you like first person shooter you will love this.

windows 8 recovery access

a quick useful tip if you want to access windows 8 uefi recovery section.

While in Windows goto restart you computer but keep hold of the "shift"  key while you press "restart".

After your computer restarts you will be taking to the recovery section allowing you to change boot options and start a system recovery.
